Jh roadsport
hi guys I noticed one of the two engine cover fixings is missing. Anyone know the correct part so I can order one? Thanks

Jh roadsport
Thanks, though I've found it in caterham parts. It's comes under button head screw- csr coil cover m6-16mm which is a pack of 5 even though there's only two to fix the cover. Maybe the spares are for when they do the disappearing act. ScottR400D
I wouldn't bother getting an OE fastener. They are a very ordinary posidrive buttonhead. I already had some when mine went awol. There's a reason they aren't anything more than a simple screw. If you over tighten you'll crack the cover. Best to just nip up after applying a dot of threadlocker (Loctite 243 or similar). If you don't lock the thread they'll come undone again. Another thing is that the cam cover is known for cracking so worth checking for oil in there when you have the coil cover off. If (when?) it does crack, it's about £100 for a new one with gasket or you can locate the crack and repair with a bit of epoxy. IME that's a better solution because it seems they crack once then are OK. (So far!)I remove the coil cover every few months to check the cam cover is OK and in between keep an eye out for oil on the back of the engine - that's where it ends up if the cam cover cracks. Again IME.
Jh roadsport
Thanks I had a good look around it the other day as I was doing an oil/ filter change. Nothing untoward though only on 850 miles so early days.
Mark w
I put a rubber O ring under the head of mine , stops over tightening and helps to stop it un-doing itself . PS pack of 10 bolts on Ebay for £1.13 inc postage ! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BUTTON-HEAD-SCREWS-ALLEN-SOCKET-BOLTS-M3-M4-M5-M6-M8-A2-STAINLESS-STEEL-KAYS-/160792810792?var=&hash=item256fff9528:m:mvvPtoU1x8xS6RTVW6EkBUA
Jh roadsport
Thanks Mark I've ordered a pack of ten. I'll put a dab of loctite on the thread.
