Fred68
Hi There, Why is Caterham only selling the Appolo for the K series motor? Is thr dry sump system the only solution for HPC drivers to help on track days? Cheers Fred

Paul McKenzie
Fred, Right at this moment I'm having the windage plate of my wet sump VX modded for this very reason. My engine's away for rebuild/upgrade and the builder was concerned at the design of the Caterham wet sump system, and so suggested the type of baffling mod. that he does on rally cars etc. where people want good protection from oil surge short of the expense of dry sumping. The mod involves welding on extra baffles transversely and longitudinally and altering the size, position , angle of the slots in the windage plate. The foam baffle gets thrown out of the window, and the oil pickup is extensively modded to properly reach right into the bottom of the sump. I'll post on the site the outcome (and the engine builder) once I get the engine back. He's also done similar mods to K-series units. Paul
