Leadership Team RogNeedham Posted September 25, 2017 Leadership Team Share Posted September 25, 2017 Hi John - I guess you've been hinting at this for a while given the back problems No experience of the Elan so I'll bow to others experience. We owned a 2008 Boxster for 3 years (SWMBO has bad back problems and concluded the Boxster had the most comfortable seats) - no problems maintenance wise, just find yourself a reliable independent specialist. Based on 30+ years owning and driving all kinds of cars, if someone told me I would have to pick one car to suit most of my needs, most of the time to last me the rest of my days...i'd go for the Boxster. Superb car.Mate of mine with a MK4 MX5 concluded that whilst it was a good modern car, he didn't keep the PCP going at the end of the three years. He became bored.Good luck with the sale and of course you'll stay in the Club ....."you'll never leave".. :)Rog
Derek Batty
Hi. John sorry to here your getting out of seven ownership bought a oldish s type jag couple years ago as a run about when I got out my back ached ,,but no problem with seven. Not a Mazda though. As Rodger said. Porsche Boxter sounds good alternative. Never had one but no couple people. Thought they were great. Poss self in few years. May get another motor. Boxter or. Always liked mgbs. Had quite a few. But if finances allowed. Would always have seven even if sold mine and bought. Cheaper one. Just to look at in garage. And go out now and again. brianmurray325hotmail.com
I agree with Derek, I think im approaching "keep it in the garage" stage with my 81 crossflow, it took i a lot of water in traversing cod beck ford south of osmotherley on wednesday, however pulling the carpets and bench seats out for drying was a 2 minute job.
