jonathantennantbtinternet
Just got myself an ex race 7 Vauxhall 8v Live axle. I was aware of how low the car was so I took it real easy over the humps but still the car bottomed out. The car has 55 profile on 13" wheels, it also came with 70 profile tyres so that's a quick fix but is there anyway to alter the height at the rear. The front appears to have adjustable platforms on the suspension but the rear don't . Help and suggestions, thanksJon
oilyhands
Spring spacers under the springs can help.Oily
Member Jonathan Kay Posted August 28, 2017 Member Share Posted August 28, 2017 What's the ground clearance under the lowest point of the sump and the rake? What would you like the ground clearance to be?Are you happy with the angle of the track rods?If you're resetting the height would you consider full flat flooring?Jonathan
OliverSedlacek
Adjustable platforms for the rear seem to be called for. They are useful for adjusting corner weights as well as rake and ride height, so I'd consider them sooner rather than later.I'd also investigate the cost of a dry sump, it gives so much peace of mind. PeterM
Go over them slowly at 45degs, I have a lowered floor and it usually works for me.
