Duckpit
I understand that there may have been changes to MSA regulations on Roll Cage for hill climbs and sprints in 2017.I have an RAC MSA FIA roll bar HOM 0966 with forward petty strut.I am finding the regulations really difficult to understand in this area. Can anyone tell me if I am still OK ?Thanks
Comp Sec
The change happened for the 2016 series and effectivly outlaws the old standard caterham roll bar.You must have an FIA / Trackday roll bar and petty struct which sounds like what you have. The only change which affects Caterham FIA Rollbar and Petty strut is you should have the approval label on it. Normally the sticker is on the Petty strut as the approval is only valid with the Petty Strut fitted. And the top of your helmet must be below a line drawn from the top of the roll bar to the front of the engine block with the bonnet off. effectively the two points the car will rest on if upside down.
