Member Jonathan Kay Posted July 30, 2017 Member Share Posted July 30, 2017 What sort of gauge? Is it switched with the water temperature? Any recent work? Other instruments working fine? Do you have the relevant wiring diagram and a multimeter?Jonathan
David aka Blue7
I had this on my CSR last year, in my case it was a faulty sender unit
John Vine
This depends on what model your 7 is, and what sender you have, but it could be you have a short to earth somewhere along your sender wire. JV

Member Jonathan Kay Posted July 30, 2017 Member Share Posted July 30, 2017 Have a look at the wiring to the sender and any connectors: any visible damage? Then remove the wire at the sender: what does the gauge now do? (Same thought as JV's.)Jonathan

SM25T
Under the front of the engine ... In the oil filter housing. Senders are notoriously unreliable. Many of us changed to a mechanical gauge with capillary hose. Costs about the same as a new sender ... And lasts more than a year !!
