John E Posted February 23, 2003 Share Posted February 23, 2003 I and Paul R have just spent nearly a whole afternoon getting the A frame off my live axle car. The bushes that allow the frame to be attached to the chassis were completely seized onto the bolts. The nearside one was a total pig and in the end we had to drill out and angle grind the bolt head away. No amount of clowtting with a drift would shift it and eventually we had to pull it through from the inside by using spacers and a decent nut. When it goes back there will be plenty of copper grease applied. wonkey eyed barmaid Posted February 24, 2003 Share Posted February 24, 2003 "plenty of copper grease applied" I was under the impression that this was a bad thing - copper grease that is - I thought it was detrimental to the rubber bushes and caused them to wear excessivly...
