Julian H
Hi Had a look at the archives and found Redline MTL GL4 for the CC 6 speed. That was from 2003, is it still the best option? And the quantity? Also, for the Titan LSD, what should I use please? And again, how much do I need please? Thanks, Julian
DJ.
I use Fuchs Titan 90 LS from Opie oils with my Titan LSD.In my 5speed I use the oil it was designed to use, Castrol EP80 mineral oil.By the way, last time I changed the diff oil, I found that suction thing I lent you wasn't working. I had to add some washers to the plunger to get it going, so sorry about that.
ScottR400D
I have the Redline MTL 75/80 in my 6 speed. IMO a slightly slicker change than to original Comma stuff. It's been in there for about a year, 1700 miles including a couple of TDs, no sign of any downside. Widely used and recommended by Opie oils. Julian H
Super, thanks for the info. If anyone can add the quantity of each I will need I would be grateful.
ScottR400D
About 1.7/8 litres for the box, from memory. You'll need to buy 2 x US quarts. I bought a cheap pump, in to which you pour the oil then pump up into the fill hole until it runs out.
Support Team Shaun_E Posted July 19, 2017 Support Team Share Posted July 19, 2017 Assembly guide says 2 litres for gearbox but you'll struggle to get that much in - I used 2 quarts of MTL recently.1.1 litres of EP90 for the diff. I recently used the nearest spec Comma oil available in Halfords. I'd have to check but it was either EP75W-90 or EP80W-90 GL5. They also do a LS80W-90 GL5 for LSDs. SM25T
I was recently recommended Castrol B373 for the diff ... including LSD. Available on eBay
