Delbert
Trying to fill a few bolt holes M8 fitted in most is scuttle but there are 4 where the bolts were too small M10 were too big it's a Arch Imperial chassis and it's the cage bolts at the base of the door panel where the side impact bar would be

Member Jonathan Kay Posted July 11, 2017 Member Share Posted July 11, 2017 That sounds like 3/8" but no idea about the thread.Fastener Pack 42, but I can't see an obvious match. And I don't think it's in Shaun's Bolt List.Gentle trial and error? And I use Bolt and Nut.Jonathan
Drumster
7/16 UNF is what you need
Wrightpayne
IIRC these are the same size as all the seat belt / harness fixings.Ian
Alan Archer
That would be somewhere around Leeds

SimonR300
If you just need to fill the holes, rather than put bolts through them, what about blanking (or blind) grommets. Search Caterham Parts or ebay etc for various sizes. Try https://www.grommets.co.uk/products/grommets/blind-rubber-grommets/ for measuring advice and stock. Delbert
SImon - excellent - the 4 holes I have left are under the door flap and a bolt is restricting the door closure These blanks will be less of an impedance
ScottR400D
7/16" is nearer 11mm. If 10mm is too big, it's more likely to be 3/8" surely?
Drumster
Can't argue with the logic, but on my '92 imperial chassis all harness bolt and cage threaded bosses are 7/16"
CharlesElliott
Yes, harness is 7/16.
SM25T
Second that. 3/8" is 9.5mm
ScottR400D
I think you're right. The minor diameter of a 7/16" UNF is 9.7 mm so it could well be that an M10 bolt, because the thread wouldn't match, might appear to be too big when it's is actually a smaller diameter bolt.
