jonathantennantbtinternet
Bit of a numpty question but to remove the cage I need to remove the suspension . Where is the bolt that holds the top bit of the suspension to the chassis , is it the bolt I can see through an access hole in the rear bulkhead, if so what hex size is it ?Also any tips. Thanks in advance. David Brown
Yes but it is a socket headed cap screw. Remove it and the bottom one and you can drop the damper out the road. See previous postings regarding using a socket with little or no lead for the bolt into the bottom of the cage as it has a very thin head.
AdamQ
On the imperial cars, the bolt is 3/8" - not sure about the metric cars, but I'd imagine 8 or 10 mm ...
jonathantennantbtinternet
That's what confused me - I only have metric and the 8 is too small and 10 is to big.
CharlesElliott
Yes, it is 3/8" or 9.5mm
Member Jonathan Kay Posted July 5, 2017 Member Share Posted July 5, 2017 I only have metric...If you're about to buy a bit to fit you might like to get one for the bolt running up to the cage at the same time... see post #2.Jonathan
