Member Jonathan Kay Posted June 17, 2017 Member Share Posted June 17, 2017 Any recommendations or advice for a small instant electric water heater? Current hot favourite is a Stiebel Eltron Hand Wash Unit at £50:http://cdn.toolstation.com/images/141020-UK/800/69896.jpgThanksJonathanPS: This is to replace a 10 y old Dimplex. The control knob was always stiff and is now unusable. Looks a bit like the above. Why do they make these knobs (and so many on showers) so that you have to grip rather than bear against the lever? ECR
I don't have that one but do have one of a similar size and cost from Ebay. In the winter, when the inlet water is cold, I have to run the tap very slowly to get even slightly warm water. In the summer the delivery of warm water is better but not very fast. if I were to buy again I wouldn't replace like for like. I guess I would have to pay a lot more to get a reasonable flow rate. EEK
Just fitted this one, which I don't recommend.http://www.screwfix.com/p/redring-instant-manual-i3v-hot-water-hand-wash-3kw/5157jwater comes out between the outlet pipe and the nozzle in a vertical direction which is not ideal. That said water is hot, useful for softening rubber tubing.
