DRH
I was struggling to hear the indicator signal at times but decided to live with it, today it just went into a none existent whisper so need some advice as to what's wrong with it and what options are available. I believe it was Doug that mentioned he had replaced his with something far more audible.
Member Jonathan Kay Posted May 27, 2017 Member Share Posted May 27, 2017 Lots of options and previous discussions, including louder buzzers with no other change of function and clever devices that include delay timers. Which would you prefer? Many are aimed at the motorcycle market but they should work fine on a 7.Jonathan

Ditto with the hazard warning lights?LED or incandescant lamps?Jonathan

DRH
Can't seem to locate the sounder behind the indicator togle switch, could it live somewhere else? I can hear it under the dash but can't seem to locate it.

Member Jonathan Kay Posted May 29, 2017 Member Share Posted May 29, 2017 What model and year is it?I think there's a photo of one in the archives... IIRC it's a disc of about 10 mm diameter, covered in tape and stuck to the loom.Jonathan
DRH
Thanks Johnathan, is it a buzzer, I read some are behind rev counters & speedo clocks
Member Jonathan Kay Posted May 29, 2017 Member Share Posted May 29, 2017 Sorry, don't know what sort of 7 you have. But that sounds (!) like a good place to look (and listen). You could also look from underneath, and a mirror or smart 'phone might help with that. Or set it going and try to find it by touch.Jonathan
Paul 160
On my car it is behind the speedometer. It looks like this:Paul

DRH
My car is originally a road sport 1.6.The phone or mirror idea is wonderful Johnathan as its not easy viewing under there and thank you Paul for without your picture I would be stabbing in the dark. How is it disconnected, does it just pull of.
anthonym
I fitted a couple of (tiny things) buzzers (one right one left) bought from Halfords (or was it Maplins?) for a few pence, took a few minutes to fit behind the switch. Nice and loud. two buzzers: because they work only with +/- in one direction not the other.Anthony
Paul 160
Hi DRH, as mine was such a pain to get to I just wrapped it in tape by feel. I'm afraid I don't know how it disconnects but I'd guess that it is a sealed unit and you would need to trace the wires back into loom.Hi Jonathan, I couldn't find that old post either. My car is a 2016 160. I'm pretty sure that other post with the beeper behind the speedometer was from a different recent model. Thanks for tidying up my photo, photo editing on my phone is not great.Paul.
