will_2111
Hi,I wonder if anyone knows what to disconnect to stop a K-Series VVC EU2 firing so you can build oil pressure before it runs?I know with the Ford engines it is a simple clip you disconnect just on the back of the engine head. Thanks in advance! Will
Graham King
Will, I always remove the fuel pump fuse to do this, you can remove the spark plugs as well if you want to be ultra careful. Graham
oilyhands
Unplug the multi plug to the injectors and remove the plugs.Oily
will_2111
Thanks for the ideas.Surely I don't need to remove the plugs as well as unplugging the injectors?!Seems like a tough fix to just crank the engine over for 5 or so seconds! Will
revilla
Yes it would be a lot to do for 5 or so seconds ... but I've known them take a couple of minutes to bring the pressure up! Scary time cranking them over watching the gauge, doing it in 15 second bursts and just praying that it will pick up this time. Always been fine in the end. Taking the plugs out removes the compression so lets it spin over faster and is easier on the poor starter in the meantime,

rj
I know it's a bit late, but: Pull the LT side of the ignition coil as well. You may fry the coil if the spark is discharged inside it. :-o
