arty
Hi i was going to work the other day for night shift and wanted to go 'doors off' that afternoon but have them with me for 'doors on' for the return in the morning but i couldn't work out how to carry them.I had a passenger as i lift share, i have a full cage at the moment with plans to remove. I tried to get one to go behind the driving seat but not enough room.Any ideas please?

Area Representative Nick Chan Posted May 24, 2017 Area Representative Share Posted May 24, 2017 They do fit in the boot but may need the mirrors swivelling vertical to help them slot together
anthonym
my butler prefers to do just one trip... p.s. I used to slide them on top of the boot behind/inside the rear roll bar tubes iirc
Member Jonathan Kay Posted May 30, 2017 Member Share Posted May 30, 2017 I usually get my butler to bring them along separately............. Does he fly in... as with the McLaren F1. (Do they still provide that support on road cars?)Jonathan
Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted June 1, 2017 Area Representative Share Posted June 1, 2017 JK:- I expect all McLaren recovery staff are required for the F1 team at the moment.

DJ.
It's very difficult to store them without damaging the plastic windows, even if you manage to get them in the boot.
Area Representative gileshudson Posted July 25, 2017 Area Representative Share Posted July 25, 2017 As Anthony said further up, they are designed to fold in half and fit behind the roll bar but in front of the two rear angled uprights/roll bar supports. One needs to go in from either side and then they can be pushed together quite snugly.
Stridey
I made sleeves for them from fleece. Also, much easier with wing mirrors removed.
