Chassis Waxoyl

Having just watched the Car SOS episode on the Caterham what is the general view on running Waxoyl along the side chassis tubes so that it runs between the tube and the side skins?

I read through quite a few old forum posts last summer and they convinced me to do it. I actually used Dinitrol which people suggested was easier to apply - I found it really easy to spray into all the little gaps around the car.

I've used Ardrox AV 8, expensive but it does the job better than anything else. And it can be washed unlike some other corrosion preventative compounds

Dinitrol here - nice warm garage and can in a jug of boiling water gets it nice and runny. If the cars been on the road a while try and clean grit etc out of the channels first. I used a bit of wire to shift detritus from the area between footwell and side skin - known on here as the grot trap.

I've just redone mine whilst the engine was out. I cleaned old dinitrol off with a white spirit soaked cloth and was surprised at the amount of grit / particles stuck in the dinitrol.

I used Dinatrol anywhere I could spray it in... & underneath the whole car. A bit shocking when you first put it onto a nice flat clean surface lol, but dulls off & whose going to be looking underneath... I'd rather it didn't go rusty...
