Superwhite R283
For standard front/rear brakes (2007 S3):A) What's the bleed nipple size (ones super tight so want a spare before I attack it)B) Dust cap size (so I can get some off eBay)C) Spanner size, 11mm feels a little loose on them Cheers Darren
Member Jonathan Kay Posted May 7, 2017 Member Share Posted May 7, 2017 C: Could be 3/8"... that's about 9.5mm.A: Possibly 3/8" x 24, or M10 x 1.0. (Links from that page are bust.)Jonathan

Wrightpayne
Just ordered and fitted these. Much better than original oneshttp://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-X-RUBBER-BLEED-NIPPLE-COVERS-BLEED-SCREW-COVERS-GREASE-CAPS-UNIVERSAL-BBNB-/331621656680
SM25T
Trying to remember back a few years .... when a local 7er bought some fancy new bleed valves and fitted then. The fronts (Triumph) were imperial and the rears (Ford) were metric bleed nipples.
Area Representative Richard Price Posted May 9, 2017 Area Representative Share Posted May 9, 2017 the "correct" size of spanner for the nipples on standard calipers is 7/16", but, as 7/16" is actually 11.1125mm, and 11mm spanner should, and often is, a better fit.I always use a ring spanner on bleed nipples to reduce the risk of rounding them off. Superwhite R283
Dust caps looks good, cheers.Cheers chaps. Makes sense on the spanner size, 11mm fits great on the front and a little loose on the rears.
Roger Ford
Slightly off-topic, has anyone used Speed Bleeder nipples? Any reason not to use them?Secondary question, is there anywhere in the UK that stocks them? I believe we need SB3824L.
SM25T
This sounds like what the aforementioned friend fitted ... But mashed caliper threads with mix up on imperial vs metric.

Roger Ford
DT don't stock the long ("L" suffix) version. Spitfire forums claim the standard one is too short.
