Mark H
Recently had a chat with an old collegue and he may be able to supply me with some correctly valved Ohlins for a caterham . In my time in motorsport i must say that these are with out doubt some of the very best dampers i have evered worked with. If anyones interested i,l get some more specs. and prices. flares n, flames
Mark Piper
A mate of mine works with Graham Hathaway on Global Lights and keeps telling me to go for the Ohlins dampers - this makes their cars superior to Radicals he tells me...how much Marc? remote reservoir? Bob Corb
I've looked into these myself, I got this recently from Ohlins uk- "Robert Thank you for your interest in Öhlins Racing UK. We do have a spec for a Caterham. We can supply a mono damper with one adjuster which adjusts bump and rebound on a 75% to 25% basis. These dampers come with springs at £389.66 each or a 2-way adjustable damper with a hose and remote reservoir with separate adjustment for bump and rebound. These come at £430.00 each without springs. If you require springs they are about £40.00 each. Our Road and Track dampers are renowned for their ride quality and driver comfort. We would require a few measurement or to look at a front and a rear damper if you would like to place an order. Regards Jorge Iribar Öhlins Racing UK Manager" On further investigation I also found out that a further 3-way adjustor kit is available to adjust high and low speed damping separately (high speed = landing after humpback bridges, low speed = little bumpettes and road imperfections). This would be the ultimate for a 7 but it may be a little superfluous - would need to investigate. The add on 3 way kit is £750 (to upgrade 4 units). If you can get a discount on Ohlins then I'd be tempted... BC

Peter Carmichael
Ohlins, White industries, Dynamic, Penske, Nitron are all top tier producers. It is worth pointing out that these dampers use completely different design principles compared to the likes of Spax/Leda/Avo etc. I think it is more difficult to differentiate products within the Ohlins/White Industries/Dynamic/Penske/Nitron group. A lot of it will come down to price and experience with the Seven, as well as accessibility and service.
