stop clutch cable coming off clutch arm

Is there supposed to be a securing method for keeping the clutch cable ball in the spigot of the clutch arm? There looks like there are two holes to add a pin or R-clip or similar to stop the ball end being able to escape.

I sometimes lift my clutch towards me and place my clutch leg behind the pedal to stretch it on long journeys. I didnt appreciate this pushes the clucth cable and the whole lot could of come off the spigot. (never happened though).

No. There is no additional securing. The set up you have is correct.

If you have a K series with the dry sump bell tank then use a split pin or r clip.

Ah. Thanks Mark. Forgot the set up may be different with the oil tank bellhousing.

i put a small cable tie through in the meantime which should do the job

With the ford style clutch fork there is a rubber grommet that fills the secondary hole. Available via caterham online parts

Re putting foot under pedal - I had the same issue until I fitted the lowered floor which creates loads more to manoeuvre your foot.

Another one for the cable tie.

 

I managed to catch the clutch pedal and flip it up enough to release the ball - in second going round a roundabout.
