Where to locate the connector for speedo sensor?

Hi all,

Has anyone any experience of where to or where NOT to locate the connector for the speedo sensor?

I see on some photos that some are located horiontally and others vertically. My sensor is located at the rear right hand side.

Wheel mounting? Have you found the advice on the bracket and on setting the gap?

Hi Jonathan,

I have bought a built car and the bracket is fine, i can set the gap ok. My wiring fused together, i have a new sensor and wire. When i received the car the connector was located vertically inside of the wheel arch [not in the wheel arch]. But to allow for enough slack i see that in some peoples build photos they have fitted it horizontally to one of the steel bars/tubes nearby.

Before replacing it as it was, i thought i would ask opinions. Iif its one of those things that one just decides for oneself then that is fine i just thought i would ask for opinions firstly.

Current thinking from Caterham is to locate the connector low down on the diagonal brace behind the drivers seat.

Thanks Chris, the very wording of " current thinking" does justify my dilemma. I will have a look at that tomorrow. Got to go to work now. Thanks very much for your reply
