MarcNS
The car the Club built has an engine issue and so has been taken off the market. There is a high pitched noise that sounds like metal on metal but goes away eventually at tick over.I don't want to drive it until I find out the issue, so it is stuck in the garage at the moment. Plan B now is to hopefully take it to lots of events this year to raise funds for Bloodwise, the new name for Leukaemia Research and sell later in the year. MarcNS
Engine all rebuilt in late 2014 with all new parts, the engine has done about 1200 miles since then.On starting after 4 months in the garage, the bolt to the water pump behind the pulley had come undone and the car had the high pitched noise.I have replaced the water pump and tightened everything up but still the same noise. Member Jonathan Kay Posted April 5, 2017 Member Share Posted April 5, 2017 Have you tried removing whatever (non-timing) belts it has?As above: Does the position of the clutch pedal affect it?Have you tried to localise it with a stethoscope?Jonathan
