huwp
With the help of another club member (cheers Geoff) we recently serviced the car but were defeated by the clutch fluid. The bleed valve was impossible to open. Has anyone successfully managed this recently and can they talk me through how to get the valve open. Even when we could get a had to it we couldn't get the thing to move.It looks like it moves in a clockwise direction to open?I'm reluctant to apply too much pressure for fear of damaging it.Thanks in anticipation.Huw
DJ.
I do find it awkward, but it is possible. It opens anticlockwise. If you can turn it far enough, I have found the fluid just runs through without moving the pedal. I seem to remember it was easier with my left hand, good luck
huwp
Thanks DJ.On mine the indent on the moveable part of the valve sits at 10 o'clock when perhaps you'd expect it to be sitting at 12 o'clock namely lined up with the indent on the fixed section of the valve.Does that sound right? DJ.
It's an awkward plastic shape with uncomfortable grippy ends. I can't remember what angle it is on mine and I'm not near the car. Once you turn it a bit, it becomes easier to grasp, but I always end up with scratches on my arm reaching it.
