Blacken
I have an aero filler cap on my CSR and l am having a lot of trouble with my local Tesco filling station with back spill which runs down the paintwork. I have tried changing the nozzle angle and different speeds of fuel delivery but l still get the same result. Can anyone recommend a filler station which has nozzles which are more sympathetic to the Seven fuel system? I have been using Tesco Momentum 99. Jonathan Kay
IIRC some of us have resorted to carrying a filling spout.Jonathan
John Vine
Is there a flap in the filler neck on a CSR? There was on my R400D and it caused all sorts of problems when filling up.In the end, I removed it altogether. Lots in the archives: try searching on "aero AND nozzle AND flap AND remove".ETA: You could start here.JV
Blacken
The flap has already been removed.
mossy7
I use Shell V Power in my Sigma. As long as I am careful I don't have issues with the nozel and Aero filler.
thompster
My aero filler is has a slight chamfer on the topmost of the four cutouts inside, which helps the nozzle fit in,see the picture at the bottom of the Newton page below for the cutouts in question. I presume someone has opened it out slightly to cure this problem. I've not had any problems filling.https://www.newton-equipment.com/aero-300-filler-cap.html
Blacken
Having recentky been to Esso and Shell stations and experienced no issues, l would conclude that the problem is the Tesco filling guns. One nice feature l found at a reasonably local Shell station is a 2 speed setting on the gun. This allows a quick or a slow fill. Excellent feature!
