Steering wheel spacer

Recommended Posts

I want to bring my steering wheel (Momo QR) closer to my chest, and I have adjusted the steering rod for maximum length, but still need a little more adjustment.

So I bought one of these: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/steering-wheel-bosses-accessories/b-g-racing-steering-wheel-spacers-3-bolt

at the same time I bought 3 new anodised black counter sunk M6 hex bolts in a longer length to fit the same nylon nuts as original set up.

Annoyingly the diameter of the holes is slightly less than 6mm.

Im in two minds. Do I drill the holes out ever so slightly (0.5mm) or is there a better off the shelf spacer that any of you guys are aware of please?

Dunno how much your spacer is but if it's not enough i have a 70mm spacer drilled for a Momo steering wheel. It has been used for 1 year of track days so proven to be solid. If you want i can send a Pic. The basis was this spacer http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/steering-wheel-bosses-accessories/b-g-racing-alloy-steering-wheel-spacers-6-bolt

There were 4 depth options Elie, and I went with 38mm. I will take the advice of JK and Andrew first, and see how it goes drilling. I may come back to you and ask the favour of a photo if it all goes pear shaped. I see your option comes in varying depths so if you got it working then it's an option...thanks to all 3 of you. I will report back!
