Nick1
I have just bought a roadsport with 15" wheels and 195 x 45 tyres.I have two problems:- SWMBO tells me that the ride is too harsh- the ground clearance is too small, so that negotiating speed bumps almost a zero speed experienceI am told that that getting tyres with a larger wall will help with the ride comfort. As far as I can tell the CR322's have the largest tyre wall as they come in 185 x 70 so are likely to give the greatest compliance / "comfort" ( of tyres commonly used on Caterham)Looking at the tyre calculators ( they all seem to vary a bit) going to 13" wheels with 185 x 70 tyres would increase the wheel diameter from 551 mm to 592 mm, so a ride height increase of about 20 mm.I realise that I should be able to adjust the suspension to increase the ride height, which I may do, but if I can kill two birds with one stone that would be good. I am open to other suggestions as wellI am using the car on the road, but would like to have a go at tracks days, so I will probably switch back to the original wheels / tyres for thatObviously, I need tyres that are road legal! Many thanks in advance, NickPS I am based in The Southampton area.
