Kevsta
Hi all, I need to fit a new alternator to my caterham. My engine was from a rover 200 BRM (I know because I fitted it) and the alternator is a Magnetti Marelli 63321238A. Does anyone know where I might be able to buy a replacement? I know you can have them serviced and fit new parts but at this stage I'd prefer to just replace it as finding someone and wondering if it was part A B or C that was the problem is beyond my realms of attention as I'm trying to renovate out house so I'd prefer a remove a part and replace with new so that I can fit and forget for now.I've been on the Magnetti Marelli website which is as useful as a chocolate teapot (even found the part number and put in in my basket - but that is all it will let you do). So looking for a stockist.CheersKev

revilla
I think the Rover part number was YLE101520 (for the 65A EU2 alternator, or YLE102430 for the 85A EU3 alternator). Those part numbers will find you loads of sources on Google or eBay.http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xyle101520.TRS0&_nkw=yle101520&_sacat=0http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID001102
SM25T
Take it to a starter and alternator overhaul place. They will do all the diagnosis and replace parts as required. Usually a same day service. That way you will know it fits !
