Clutch fork failure - ford 5 speed?

I'm currently on the process of removing the engine & gearbox - just the engine mounts to remove and its ready to lift out.

When disconnecting the clutch cable I've spotted the clutch fork seems to have a crack at the very end adjacent to where the cable locates.

I'm not sure if this is by design or whether its a fracture? If it is the latter, is it weldable? Caterham dont seem too badly priced for a new one - anyone know the model it came from?

Here is an image which hopefully shows where it is (a random clutch fork not necessarily a Caterham one)

Regards

Ian
