Alan Reeves
my dash brake light is illuminating and before I go into that chilly garage is there anything obvious that might cause it to come on.The book says it is low fluid which would be a worry but im pretty sure its going to be ok.what else could it possiby be

elie boone
If the fluid is indeed low first check your brake pads, if the brake pads are worn replace the pads before you fill up the brake fluid, because when you push back the caliper pistons the brake fluid will rise in the brake fluid reservoir. JNC
Alan , I had this problem some time ago ! the light use to come on when I accelerated hard but normal driving it was ok , I checked the level and it was down a bit but the sensors would read low under acceleration . so topped it up now no issue . Garth
Alan I am sure it must have been a faulty hand brake switch - no other explanation!
