I can understand it too some extent, the cars are very pricey for what they are, though the rate of depreciation cushions that, but they are what they are and have been for decades so it shouldn't surprise. What does surprise me is that people still seem to take back to CC for service. The cars are so simple and cheap to service at home, I thought that was one of the attractions.
