Odometer

I have an Aim Digital dash. It all works but the odometer is stuck.

Aim can't repair as it's too old and the newer units are a different shape, so won't fit the dash ( carbon fibre ) hole.

Second hand replacements do come up on e-bay, occasionally,  but around the £300 mark.

I suspect that, as with many MOT requirements (eg lights) it is not necessary to have one fitted but if they are fitted they must work. I think the only thing that is a requirement is a working horn. Plenty of track bikes whizz around this land perfectly legally with no lights and a day time MOT.

Well, the MOT Manual for Private Passenger Vehicles makes no mention at all of odometers (working or otherwise).  Section 6.7 concerns itself solely with speedometers as a device to indicate speed.  No mention is made regarding the recording of mileage.
