Identifying engine

Does anyone know of any list available to identify a K Series engine from the engine number?

How to do it for MGs. What number does yours have and does it sem to match that scheme?

Alan,

Just be aware that the blocks (with the engine numbers on) are interchangeable between anything from a later 1.4 to a 1.8 VVC or VHPD - so if you know the engine is pretty much as it was built then the engine number tells you what you need to know but if the engine is something that has an unknown history, an engine builder could have built it to a completely different specification to that reflected by the engine number.
