Kensboats7
Saw a pic of a Japanese 160 which is fitted with the best looking third brake light I have yet seen. It looks specially made to fit between the sloping uprights of the roll bar and is full width with the ends nicely faired in around the uprights. Are these available here in the UK? Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted December 4, 2016 Area Representative Share Posted December 4, 2016 I think you will have to find the picture again and post it (or a link to it).
Kensboats7
Still trying to copy and paste the pic, but have a deco at the rear view of the Blue 160 on Speedhunters.com. There is also a pic somewhere of the same light mounted just under the top bar, so I imagine it can be put at any height.

Paul 160
It looks a bit like the pedestal LED light from CBS but that would need some modifications to the boot:http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/pedestal-mount-28-led-high-level-brake-light-255mmIf you are just after something that fits nicely between the diagonals of a track day bar, the 60 LED CBS will:http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/60-led-high-level-third-brake-lightThis is it fitted by my 160: Jonathan - I thought the only major chassis difference on the 160 was the position of the engine mounts, but I'd like to know if that really is the case.Paul. Kensboats7
The Japanese one looks to be tailored specially for Caterhams - I want one!
Drumster
That's too low for any real benefit IMHO. I think the 3rd brake light needs to be higher, hence why most of us fit them to the top bar. Just my 2p worth

ScottR400D
I agree with the last comment. Only a few inches higher than the other lights and still very low in comparison with other traffic.
Kensboats7
On other pic it is shown fitted directly under the top bar, looks much better there too. Will get onto Caterham, in case they are available here.
ScottR400D
That makes sense, of course it could be fitted at the top!
Kensboats7
Been thinking about this today and I think it will be easy to reproduce this idea using black plastic tube and a commercialy available LED brake light unit. It should be straightforward to make a unit which looks better than having gaffer taped cables etc and which also looks made for the job.
JNC
To low !! . The genuine CC high level brake light is just above the spare wheel .
