johnpbransfield
Advice please on my trailer tyres. Loads of tread left on them but the date of manufacture is August 2005. Would it be advisable to replace them before next season? Thanks in advance.
Leadership Team Mcalvert Posted December 1, 2016 Leadership Team Share Posted December 1, 2016 If your luck with trailer types is as good as mine (I think I've had 3 blow this year!) then I'd definitely suggest changing them... To be fair, I think it was two individual blow outs, but I didn't realise about the first one for such a long time (It's the one problem with the stability of a twin axle trailer) that by the time I stopped, it had damaged the adjacent tyre too which then blew not long after... Support Team Shaun_E Posted December 1, 2016 Support Team Share Posted December 1, 2016 I would and replace them with 8 ply tyres.
Area Representative Paul Richards Posted December 1, 2016 Area Representative Share Posted December 1, 2016 It would be good practice to change at that age. Definitely 8 ply. I bought a set of 4 earlier this year for around £180 fitted.
