Gear Stick

Whilst I have a little free time this afternoon, I thought I'd make a new aluminium gear knob similar to the one's seen at Halfrauds, and fitted to the Honda S2000.

Does anybody know the diameter of the shaft, and what type of thread is on it? My car is fitted with the standard 5 speed Ford box, with the nasty foamy plastic knob. Unfortunately I'm at work and my car is at home ☹️ otherwise I'd measure it myself......

Thanks for any help

Chris

With the T9 and Caterham car, they fit a short extension piece on the shaft.

I removed this and made a longer Nylon knob to save weight / give warm feel *confused*

I remember using an M10 in the nylon to thread it. With a bit of thread lock it works a treat. Was on all season and didn't move but came off when I needed to remove it.

If you make a shorter say round knob then the thread on the extension piece is smaller around M8 but is propably not metric.

That's the most help I can be.
