Caterham Service Schedule

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have been using a service schedule the previous owner of my previous car used, and have just updated it to suit my new Duratec. I have modified a few rows as they weren't applicable, and added all of the fluids that Caterham currently send out and recommend (note a change from Comma to Millers mainly).

It would be fab if those who know more about Duratecs can check and validate this document. I may be missing some bits, or incorrect in places.

And once checked, this may be a useful resource for others servicing their cars.

Thanks in advance,

Marcus

That's a laudable idea, Marcus!

Some comments (not necessarily in the order in your schedule):

  • Brake fluid: change every 2 years/12K
  • Coolant: change every 4 years (maybe 3 if you're picky)
  • Wheel bearing repack: I'd extend that to every 3-4 years
  • Plugs: every 2 years/12K should be OK, maybe even longer (depending on plug type)
  • Change air filter: could extend to every 3-4y
  • No clutch cable on a Duratec (hydraulic clutch)
  • Clutch fluid: change every 2y/12K
  • No cambelt on a Duratec (cams are chain-driven)
  • No coil lead on a Duratec (instead, you have 4 coil-on-plug units, no HT leads)
  • Brake hoses: change every 4y
  • Run ECU diagnostics (if possible)
  • Check seat belts and anchor points

Hope that helps!

Hi Jonathan - the other one is HTML embedded in the page so would have been tricky to get a consistent feel. If someone converts the standard schedule to Excel (or already has it as such) then I'll revamp the pages and keep them all in one guide. As it is, if you search for service AND schedule, both guides come up.
