Mucus72
Hi all,I have been using a service schedule the previous owner of my previous car used, and have just updated it to suit my new Duratec. I have modified a few rows as they weren't applicable, and added all of the fluids that Caterham currently send out and recommend (note a change from Comma to Millers mainly). It would be fab if those who know more about Duratecs can check and validate this document. I may be missing some bits, or incorrect in places. And once checked, this may be a useful resource for others servicing their cars. Thanks in advance,MarcusLink to my service schedule Excel spreadsheet
Member Jonathan Kay Posted September 5, 2016 Member Share Posted September 5, 2016 Well done.I used to use James Whiting's, but it's just about the same as Shaun's which is on the site as a Guide. Can you see a way to convergence? Or at least ask Shaun to put a link to yours from the Guide page?ThanksJonathan
John Vine
That's a laudable idea, Marcus! Some comments (not necessarily in the order in your schedule): Brake fluid: change every 2 years/12K Coolant: change every 4 years (maybe 3 if you're picky) Wheel bearing repack: I'd extend that to every 3-4 years Plugs: every 2 years/12K should be OK, maybe even longer (depending on plug type) Change air filter: could extend to every 3-4y No clutch cable on a Duratec (hydraulic clutch) Clutch fluid: change every 2y/12K No cambelt on a Duratec (cams are chain-driven) No coil lead on a Duratec (instead, you have 4 coil-on-plug units, no HT leads) Brake hoses: change every 4y Run ECU diagnostics (if possible) Check seat belts and anchor pointsHope that helps!JV
Mucus72
John , that's exactly the advice I was looking for to help update the schedule appropriately for Duratecs. Many thanks! I will update and then send to Shaun, if I can find his details.

Member Jonathan Kay Posted September 7, 2016 Member Share Posted September 7, 2016 Thanks, Shaun.I think it would be better to have a single header page in Guides that includes links to both (all?) schedules rather than separate pages. Just like you did for the Bolt list/ Fastener packs.Jonathan
Support Team Shaun_E Posted September 7, 2016 Support Team Share Posted September 7, 2016 Hi Jonathan - the other one is HTML embedded in the page so would have been tricky to get a consistent feel. If someone converts the standard schedule to Excel (or already has it as such) then I'll revamp the pages and keep them all in one guide. As it is, if you search for service AND schedule, both guides come up.Shaun
