K Series DHTB with Individual Air Filters

John Howe

Recommended Posts

Have used twin sock varieties. PiperX currently and the engine works fine and sounds nice.

Only thing to watch on mine is the trumpet lips are very close together and quite sharp, so the filters can be a bugger to get on/off and have a tendency to rip.

Not tried anything more solid as these seem to work for me.

Its the principle of socks ....the air is disrupted around the belmouth entry . For longetivity I would plump for a "normal" filter and backplate , Such as an ItG JC 50 - either mounted on the ends of the trumpets or idealy 40mm down the trumpets , again to minimise distruption to flow .

This will still fit under a std bonnet with no hole cut . So long as the trumpets are only the 90mm variety .
