David Brown
Currently fitting a half hood and have replaced the poppers on the boot cover with the latching ones that came with the kit. Can't get them to latch under existing popper bases. Had no trouble when fitting to my last car.Anyone any suggestions before I try to call SBFS? SM25T
You mean the two security poppers on the front of the boot edge for the side straps and boot cover. Are they the right way up ? Then call SBFS
Area Representative Paul Richards Posted June 27, 2016 Area Representative Share Posted June 27, 2016 Aren't they special popper bases for the one way poppers?
Ted27
I had exactly the same problem and ended up replacing the popper bases. The existing ones are just too big. I actually managed to tap one on but the other wouldn't budge. The kit from SB had replacements you can use.
Felixgogo
I changed how the side straps attach to the car completely and did away with the special poppers.I drilled out the top rivet inside the car cabin on the inside - and then replaced it with a standard popper base. Then I replaced the popper on the hood strap with a standard popper top, but backwards. The straps are then almost in the same 'plane' but attached much more firmly. It hasn't come off yet, but if the standard poppers are not up to it, I'll replace with popper studs.
