Roadsport 175 Broken Ignition

Car would not start - key just turned in the barrel past the normal position and did not spring back.  No ignition and no start.  Took the ignition switch switch off the back of the barrel and the mechanism is locked solid.  I have emailed Redline to source a replacement but want to get the ignition on to check the speed sensor.

Any help appreciated to connect the correct wires to turn on the ignition. On the ignition switch I have a black/purple to Terminal 1, a double black to Terminal 2 and a single black to Terminal 3.

Those colours sound a bit strange.

Do you have a separate starter button?

A similar thing happened to me - i managed to get a very similar switch from Rimmer Bros the fits in the end of the ignition barrel. I'll see if I can find the post

Many thanks to all.  I had followed the http://www.lotus7.club/forum/techtalk/ignition-switch-failure thread and looked at the Rimmer site.  The PRC8230P looks similar to mine and thought that I would take a punt but wanted to talk to Redline first.

Ordered the PRC8230P from Rimmer and after minor fettling with a file had it fitted in a jiffy.  Unlike the original that was marked to DIN 72552 standard, the replacement was not, and there are minor differences in the number of connectors, but the functionality is the same.  NOw up and running again.
