Grandmaster Flatcap
Can someone confirm the torque setting for the lower damper bolt (that fastens to DeDion)?Should the bolts at either end of the rear damper go in clean & dry or copasliped and/or thread locked? Member Jonathan Kay Posted June 10, 2016 Member Share Posted June 10, 2016 Assembly Guide has 54Nm for all rear shock absorber bolts. (Would you like a copy?)Sean's Bolt List has 54Nm for the upper and doesn't say for the lower.Jonathan

Grandmaster Flatcap
JK, I have a version of the AG...mine says: 29 The rear spring damper units are suspended from the top mounting using caphead bolts (4) inserted through the access holes provided in the seat back panel. Tighten to 40 lbft (55 Nm) once the spring damper unit has been attached to the De Dion tube.It then moves on to DeDion ear assembly and I can't find another mention of the damper. Member Jonathan Kay Posted June 10, 2016 Member Share Posted June 10, 2016 Does it have a table of settings at the end of that chapter?Otherwise try "SECTION 18* - START UP PROCEDURE AND FINAL CHECKS ": that might have the torque setting and the suggested washers. If that doesn't have them either please tell me which model, engine and year and I'll send you the Guides I've got.Jonathan* Section number might differ between versions.
