myothercarsa2cv
These little widgets are so good all cars should come with them as standard. Anyway, I'm organising a bulk buy for my hairdressers club so if anyone fancies latching on to it, let me know. There's a post in the Bulk Buy section here: http://www.lotus7.club/forum/bulk-buys/dre-shift-lightsTa!
Mucus72
Top man! Installed one on my old Caterham. Was so good I didn't spec the rather expensive Caterham equivalent on the current. Perfect timing for me :)
Wrightpayne
I have one and its great. I made up three mini cables to connect up without cutting the loom. Basically y shaped with 1 connector splitting to two. Ian
myothercarsa2cv
I sold mine after losing the 7... Wish I hadn't!Ian, do you have a picture of your install? Sounds much neater than how I did mine all those years ago!

Member Jonathan Kay Posted May 25, 2016 Member Share Posted May 25, 2016 Very useful trick described by Ian both for diagnostic purposes and for reversible changes to standard configurations. And it also means you don't have to make splices in areas with difficult access: you can do all the work on the bench. The common bit of the Y has the complementary connector to the existing one on the wire that you're disconnecting. One branch has the same connector as the existing one to reconnect the original way, the other has the connector for whatever new bit you're connecting.Jonathan
Wrightpayne
Jonathan, thanks for the perfect description - there are three said leads for the positive feed, earth and trigger wires on the tacho all needed for the shift lights.I'll take one off and post up a picture but will be next week now.RegardsIan
Member Jonathan Kay Posted May 25, 2016 Member Share Posted May 25, 2016 Thanks, Ian.A picture would certainly help.Do you know what the actual connector types are? And the appropriate lengths of the leads?Jonathan

Mucus72
I'm also interested in a photo and installation instructions. I did an ok job last time, but to the perfectionist it was a bit of a bodge.

JonL
Arrived on friday and just finished fitting them. Shift lights are cool (although drilling a hole in the scuttle was nerve wracking!)Many thanks for organising these. My first real 'upgrade'.Jon
