John Cousins
I had a Powerspeed Exhaust and Manifold fitted in early March. Very pleased with it but I get a "tinny" vibration at about 70. Nothing is amiss as far as I can see. Has anyone with a similar setup experienced anything like this?
John Cousins
Powerspeed have told me it is rare but might be the perforated tube - arranging to have them take a look.
DJ.
I was going to say, with a repackable silencer, it's usually the perforated tube moving within the end cap.I've just modified my Caterham silencer to be repackable, and it was pretty difficult to get a snug fit for the perforated tube. I fitted mine together without any packing first so I could give it a good shake and check for rattles.Powerspeed are a good company, I'm sure they'll see you right
SM25T
I had this when mine was newish. Powerspeed took off the end cap and adjusted the way the perforated tube sat in or around the spigot for the tail pipe. Good chaps.
Ian R
I found a load of small melted 10mm diameter lumps of padding inside mine, could be somthing like that inside rattling about?
John Cousins
Powerspeed Exhaust 'tinny rattle' noise issue resolved. Turned out one of the primaries was just touching the body when it got hot and caused a resonance at about 70. Guys at Fast Road Conversions quickly identified and then resolved the issue by slightly reshaping the offending primary.
