DAZ 4
Does anybody have a wiring loom for an MBE to run 45 carbs ? Have access to an MBE black box (thanks Chris ) but no loom. Thanks, Darren
Noel Mclaughlin
I have been waiting for an MBE as well, but alas Australia Day has passed once more and didn' t even get an Honourable Mention. Always next year i suppose ☹️ ☹️
stevefoster
I have a loom and ECU for this BUT it is installed into the car at pre-build by Caterham. Not sure if it is possible to extricate it easily. I will look in to it. My racing pics, 7 DIY, race prep. Chelspeed
Which MBE is it? If it's 903, 912, 956 type then it's pretty easy to make your own. For 941 it's harder, for 967 even worse, but still not really rocket science. I've got a contact for the plugs on the ECU then the rest is just stringing wires then taping them up with loom tape. Conrad did one for his 941, see www.conrad.uk.net
stevefoster
My MBE is a 903. The 941 is miles more complicated. The 903 is easy peasy. All that is involved in the loom is a plug to the ECU. Power/ground input and then 2 x 3 or 4 VX plugs. One for the crank sensor (3 pin) 1 for the coil pack (3 or 4 pin) That is all it is. Update. I have not had time to look at loom removal. If I cannot get the loom out I can at least measure pin to pin and supply you a loom wiring diagram and the ECU. I can supply the plugs (cut off at worst too!). You can then make your own. Will check tonight. My racing pics, 7 DIY, race prep. DAZ 4
Chelspeed - Thanks for that, I spoke to Steve @GWR (what a helpful bloke) he has ordered a sample 12 pin plug for me as the minimum order was 800 I still don't know what all the pin-out are for and Steve might need me to send the ECU to him Stevefoster - Any joy removing your old loom 😳 Darren
stevefoster
Hi Daz 4, Not yet. I have been prioritising the running of the new set up a bit. I have had a quick look but then got on with MBE956 set up. Am I right in thinking you don't want the ECU? I have a guy after both and cannot sell him just the ECU. My racing pics, 7 DIY, race prep. DAZ 4
Steve - I bought an MBE - ecu from Chris without a loom, but I'm having trouble sourcing the connections. So I may have to end up getting another one with a loom Darren
