Wodybode
I'm a new owner of a S3 1.6 Sigma Roadsport (2010).Is it possible to reduce the brightness of the blue full beam indicator light in any other way than sticking a blob of something on top of it on the tacho glass or Is the light removable so that I can dab a bit of lacquer on it, or can it be changed for a dimmer one? Any advice welcome.
Jonathan Kay
Tape over it. Easy to adjust by adding layers, and easy to remove,(On my mother's Stiletto there were little translucent eyelids which worked very well.)Jonathan
Comp Sec
I know mine is the replaceable lamp type and actually has a 24V lamp fitted so it's not as bright.
David Mirylees
Back in the dark ages I found the same problem with the Blue High Beam lamp being too bright. I just swapped the Red ignition lamp and Blue HB lamp over. OK, so I have a blue ignition lamp and the red HB lamp but the red doesn't mess up my eyes when I go back to dip - which is another thing the blue one did. (Back in the 60's the Navy used red lighting in the control room so that your eyes didn't need an age to adjust to the darkness when you stepped outside). Wodybode
Hi David,I like the idea of switching to the red light, I suppose I could then say its a military spec car. Thanks
jackb_ms
You could add a resistor in series, with the bulb. I did that a while back and it was successful. Jack
