A Simple Guide to the Classes.

A recieved a number fo queries relating to the new class structure, so i've put together a simple guide which will reside in the competitors area here and will be updated in future years as regulations change or develop.

for easy access for this year i've repeated it below.

 

Classes 1 to 5 are within the Road-Going Specialist Production Car Category. Classes 6 & 7 are within the Modified Specialist Production Car Category

Whilst this guide gives a simplistic view of the classes please refer to the full regulations for the details.

Class 1

This class is designed for any standard Lotus 7, and falls within the MSA rules for Specialist Production Cars

• Engine size upto 1600cc, 
• Gearbox : 4 or 5 Speed
• Engine Type : Rover K, Sigma, Crossflow, Suzuki 660cc
• Tyres : MSA List 1A Radial
• Power : Upto 125 BHP
• Driver Aids : None
• FHR : Optional
• Windscreen : Standard or Aero
• ROPS : MSA Rollbar + Petty Strut or Full Cage
• Documents : V5, MOT, Road Tax, Road Insurance

Class 2

The class is designed for standard Lotus 7,and falls within the MSA rules for Specialist Production Cars

• Engine Size upto 1800cc
• Gearbox 4,5 or 6 Speed
• Engine Type : Rover K, Sigma, Crossflow,Zetec
• Tyres MSA List 1A Radial
• Power : Upto 150BHP​
• Driver Aids : None
• FHR : Optional
• Windscreen : Standard or Aero
• ROPS : MSA Rollbar + Petty Strut or Full Cage
• Documents : V5, MOT, Road Tax, Road Insurance

Class 3

The class is designed for any standard Lotus 7, and falls within the MSA rules for Specialist Production Cars

• Engine Size upto 1800cc
• Gearbox 4,5 or 6 Speed
• Engine Type : Rover K, Sigma, Crossflow,Zetec
• Tyres MSA List 1B Radial
• Power  :Upto 150 BHP
• Driver Aids : None
• FHR : Optional
• Windscreen : Standard or Aero
• Documents : V5, MOT, Road Tax, Road Insurance

Class 4

The class is designed for any Lotus 7, and falls within the MSA rules for Specialist Production Cars

• Engine Size : Unrestricted
• Gearbox 4,5 or 6 Speed, except for non car derived engines which may use sequential.
• Engine Type : Unrestricted
• Tyres MSA List 1B Radial
• Power  :Upto 210 BHP
• Driver Aids : None
• FHR : Optional
• Windscreen : Standard or Aero
• ROPS : MSA Rollbar + Petty Strut or Full Cage
• Documents : V5, MOT, Road Tax, Road Insurance

Class 5

The class is designed for any Lotus 7, and falls within the MSA rules for Specialist Production Cars

• Driver Aids : All Permitted

Class 6

The class is designed for any Lotus 7, and falls within the MSA rules for Modified Specialist Production Cars

Class 7

The class is designed for any Lotus 7, and falls within the MSA rules for Modified Specialist Production Cars
