Alex Birtwisle
David Gower - Shower Nelson Mandela - Stella Britanny Spears - Beers Felicity Kendal - Factory Noger, you have hit the nail on the head. I was always told poetry didn't have to rhym - so why on earth should rhyming slang? 😬Alex 😬 S713UMY 1.8K Viper Blue and Black
Hibster.
It would be bit difficult to follow if it didn't, how would you work out what the words meant ? I suppose that if you can follow wibble then you could following non-rhyming rhyming-slang
Violet Elizabeth
Rhyming slang doesn't always have to rhyme ... An Archer = £2000 (or a couple of ponies and a squirrel to you squire, know what I mean, up and down the old kent road etc) Aris = Aristotle = Bottle = Bottle and Glass = 🙆🏻 Edited by - Noger on 6 Feb 2003 13:47:
Hibster.
Noger But Harris is a double rhyme but nevertheless a rhyme. How about "Berk" that's another double one ISTR Paul

Violet Elizabeth
"Berk" is a single rhyme but abbreviated , and very very rude. Berkshire hunt. Hmmmm. Barnet Fair - Hair. Other nice ones that are in everyday use, but not necassarily known as CRS are :- Scarpa as in "Quick, lets scarpa". Scapa Flow. Go. Rasberry as in "Blowing a Rasberry". Rasberry Tart. Fart. Cobblers as in "You are talking Cobblers". Coblers Awls. Balls.
Hibster.
Noger I'd always heard it to be Berkley Hunt but the rhyme is the same 😳 So boys and girls when you mildly call someone a Berk you are really calling the a very naughty word ineed, word not often heard on the television and certainly never heard in the bikeshed 😳 Paul
Violet Elizabeth
Yes, indeed Paul. Reminds of when everyone was using the word "Smeg" in the office, from watching Red Dwarf, and someone said "Isn't it great that ehy made up such a cool word". When I pointed her at the dictionary she was quite shocked.

mav
Having only just been able to get back in here, I find that Viv is a westfield fancier who would appear to be having an affair with Alex. Nothing for it but for me to go out with the Teach, Miss Rach! If any of this is found to be untrue, so help me I'll be having words with you Davies ❗ 😬 ☹️ 😳 🤔 🙆🏻
