Andy Best Posted February 3, 2003 Share Posted February 3, 2003 Hi, I've just aquired a secondhand kit to make 1.6 roadsport a 1.6 supersport, I was wondering if anybody had fitted the Caterham aftermarket upgrade kit and if there are any special instructions included. If there are any can someone send me a copy of the instructions. Miraz Posted February 3, 2003 Share Posted February 3, 2003 You'll need some new seals, cam sealant and a distributor drive...but that's about it... Delberts Wallet Posted February 3, 2003 Share Posted February 3, 2003 Andy, I did this job a couple of years ago. First, get yourself the correct haynes manual for a rover 216. Other things you will need to do the job are some camshaft oil seals, some liquid gasket stuff (got mine from rover) and while you are at it a new cam belt. Also a cam locking tool is needed to lock the cams in place (from Halfords or if you are stuck I can send you mine in the post) As for the ECU, this is where you need to talk to your local Rover dealer. You need to get them to match the new ecu with your immobilser. I did mine over a few evenings so not sure how long it should take.
