Wrapping/blocking radiator for cold weather driving?

... which of those who have posted really use their Seven throughout the winter?

It never gets used enough regardless of season! But on motorways and similar on cold days it never gets warm enough. I'll probably just use a bit of blanking rather than a fancier blind*.

* Or, in my case, a double blind. ;-)

Driving the Crossflow over the past couple of weeks sees the temperature gauge reading 70C, without any blanking of the radiator. Too cool for my taste and insufficient heat remaining for the heater to be noticeable.

So I am going to get out the gaffer tape.

I made one up years ago using plywood. It covered roughly the lower third of the grille and was secured using the little plastic 2 part shelf fixings you get from places like Homebase (I use the same things on my sprint timing strut).

Always concerned about traffic though and potential overheating, but this was a reasonable compromise.
