Julian H
My Apollo tank has a spade connector on the side of it. Is that a temp sender unit? Is the gauge connection as simple as reallocating my [no longer used] oil pressure sender unit wire to connect to the Apollo tank that end and add an On/On switch at the other end on the coolant temp gauge connection? Member Jonathan Kay Posted November 15, 2015 Member Share Posted November 15, 2015 New or preloved? Can you add a photo and the resistance to earth?I guess you'd have to check that the two senders/ oil sender and gauge are compatible. Any serial numbers on the bit around the spade terminal?Jonathan
Julian H
Blimey thats quick. One of the flats has 32/05 on it. The Apollo tank was already fitted to my Seven when I got it. Tank is perfectly earthed [no resistance], Spade has no continuity to earth. The gauge is the CC standard temperature gauge.
SM25T
Yes .... that will be fine with the water gauge. Go for it
Julian H
I am very dissapointed that you Ian, of all people, are advocating me adding the extra weight of a switch to my Seven. Is this the one I need?
SM25T
Well you could just twist the wires together

Ian B
Or you could use one of these or these, and wire them to illuminate amber when measuring Oil temp

John Vine
If you want the switch to match the existing switches, this one (dip) from CC will do the job. Just set it up so that the toggle points towards the oil pressure gauge for the oil temp reading.JV
Julian H
All great suggestions [except Ian's ] thanks. I will be going with my original suggestion since that is what all my other toggle switches will look like soon
Ian B
My illuminated one was slightly tongue in cheek as you'd need a relay to make it work No sense of adventure some people
