Fuel Tank honeycomb boot

Robert OSELLO

Recommended Posts

I've just installed the fuel tank protection kit on my 1.6K, and now I'm trying to re -fit the honeycomb boot. However, I'm not able to fit this one, every attempt make it jam. As I don't remember how I get it out, I'm going to split it in two pieces. Before do do that, I'd like to know if it's a mistake (from a safety point of view), or if somebody has some recommendation?

Thanks a lot for your help

Robert.

Leave it, go to the pub, have a nights sleep. Try again tomorrow morning and it will slip straight in and you'll wonder what the problem was.

It's one of those puzzle things, get the ring off the loop, solve the rubics cube, fit the honeycomb boot floor.

Did mine last night.

Sort of angled down at one end (by the tank filler) as far as it will go and sliding the other end down/in near the left damper turret.

We got it out with the Roadsports cage on! Still tricky to get back in with no cage! Maybe the cage would be a guideline and make it easier.
