Phil Posted November 2, 2015 Share Posted November 2, 2015 Hi allI have a Duratec R500 2009 7 with a stack dash.Driving along and the car just dies, all the dash goes blank and I have no power to anything.Pressing the start button, the dash just flashes on and off as if it has a short, eventually it will start and run for a while but then it will do it again.Any ideas please./sites/default/files/images/users/400/3_66.jpg Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Battery terminals and earths .... large cables and earth stud by wiper motor. Wires/connectors on ignition switch. FIA master switch often problematic. Member Jonathan Kay Posted November 2, 2015 Member Share Posted November 2, 2015 You need to check the battery voltage when it happens to exclude lack of smoke. But that doesn't sound likely.No fuses blowing?I think that losing all of those circuits but not the horn (with all the fuses intact) could be due to bad earth(s). (The horn is usually an earth switched circuit so doesn't depend on other earths.) Start with wiggling, disconnecting and cleaning them.
